Introduction

I am a clinical gastroenterology trainee with a keen research interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Previously, I held posts as an Academic Foundation Programme trainee and an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital and Norwich Research Park. During this time I was involved in both wet-lab and dry-lab research with the Korcsmaros Lab which focused on unravelling cytokine signalling and the effect of bile acids in intestinal inflammation in the context of IBD. Currently, I am pursuing my PhD as a Chain Florey Clinical Research Fellow at the MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences and Imperial College London under the supervision of Prof Irene Miguel-Aliaga, Dr Nick Powell, and Dr Tamas Korcsmaros. I aim to investigate sex differences in the pathogenesis of IBD using computational analysis of genomic data and wet-lab approaches involving human intestinal organoids.
